Menstrual Health, Hygiene and Nutrition Camp

This camp was led by our APR teenager Arya Kenghe-a grade 12 student. About 80 female domestic helps participated in this camp pan APR. The camp entailed a presentation on menstrual health by our APR resident Gynecologist – Dr Maya Vijayan MBBS; MS OBGY; Lap Surgeon.

The presentation and the talk covered menstrual health from pre-teens to menopause. It covered topics like what products to use, what kind of nutritious food to eat and how to take care of one’s menstrual health from a medical point of view. It also covered an insight on using sustainable period products. The session was conducted in Hindi, Kannada and Tamil.

Act for We gifted all the participants a reusable sanitary napkins kit, juice and biscuits funded by APR Charitable Trust. ACT for Women empowerment really empowered our domestic helps about this very much needed topic.
